Meet the Panalists:

Randall L. Pappal - Vice President, Global Purchasing, Supply Chain and Business Development
Randy Pappal joined Shape Corp. as its vice president of global purchasing-supply chain and business development in February, 2019. Randy comes to Shape from General Motors (GM) where he held a variety of positions, including numerous executive leadership roles, within key business and purchasing functions. In his most recent role, Randy held the executive director of global purchasing and supply chain for GM’s body and exteriors team since 2010. Prior to this position, he was located in Mexico City and held the position of Executive Director, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, HVAC and Mexico since August of 2008.
Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Randy received an Associate and Bachelor of Science Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1983 and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1992.
He began his GM career as a cooperative student with the Rochester Products Division in Rochester, NY in 1982. Subsequently Randy held positions in Industrial Engineering, Planning and Purchasing in various North American units, including NUMMI in Fremont, California.
Randy began his international career in 1992 after being appointed Director of Supplier Development for Asia Pacific located in Hong Kong. Subsequently, he was appointed the Director of PC&L for GM do Brasil in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1996 and then the Director of Materials Management for GM Argentina in 1997 prior to repatriating to North America in 1999. After a two year assignment in the U.S. he moved to Singapore and subsequently Shanghai as the Vice President of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain for GM Asia Pacific from 2001-2006. In 2006 Randy again moved back to the United States and occupied various leadership positions in Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.
Randy is married and has two daughters. The Pappals reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Randy is a member of the Board of Directors, Oakland Family Services, Pontiac MI.

Dan Snyder - Cost Analyst
Dan has been an active member of ISM SE Michigan for the past two years. He has helped lead the successful webinars in summer 2020 with the pivot to online programming. He also helping manage and moderate the ISM signature event panel discussion in December “Pivoting Strategies in a Turbulent Environment.”
Dan is currently a Cost Analyst at AGC Automotive Americas. Dan helps develop accurate product cost for automotive glass and communicates the data within the organization. He also helps review the product design from Engineering and the manufacturing process for reasonableness. Dan brings an overall business perspective to new business proposals, early advanced engineering projects and corporate initiatives. Previously to AGC Automotive Americas Dan worked at Lear Corporation for five years. The first three years were in Supply Chain Project Management delivering continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives while understanding Lear’s overall manufacturing footprint within Seating and E-Systems. His last two years were in Purchasing where he was responsible for the trimmed assembly commodity for Seating and supported plastics.
Dan is also involved in the community where he is a co-chair of Student Relations on the Mike Ilitch School of Business Alumni Council. He also holds board positions for Platform 18 Young Professionals (Partners Detroit) and ISM SE Michigan. Dan was also previously the President of Lear Young Professionals for two years.
Dan is a graduate of the Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business with a degree in Global Supply Chain Management and he is currently pursuing his MBA. On his days away from the office he has a passion for traveling internationally, enjoys trying new restaurants, playing tennis, and exercising.

Luke Tappen - Commodity Buyer
Luke started out his supply chain career as an intern in 2019 with Royal International Group in their Hong Kong office in addition to having a Co-op in Program Management with Meritor. Luke is currently a commodity buyer responsible for Metal Stampings at Adient, a leading provider of Automotive Seating. Luke graduated from Wayne State University with a BSBA in Global Supply Chain Management in 2019.
